Govee’s new LED Lightwall
Govee has been releasing a slew of products recently including their new outdoor lights. But perhaps the most unusual release from Govee is a higher-end version of their curtain lights, dubbed the Lightwall. This costs more than double at $449, but comes with a metal frame you can set up to hold the wall. Like the curtain lights, you can use Govee’s AI to generate and map images and patterns on the lights. This device sounds ideal if you like to throw parties at night, especially outdoors, but otherwise feels a bit niche.
SwitchBot’s rechargeable Bot
Today, SwitchBot makes all kinds of smart home products, but their first was a little motorized arm to press a switch or button in your home. While I use other SwitchBot products, I haven’t found a good use case for these little switch controllers. But they still have many fans out there, and they can be particularly great for adding automation to old light switches, or appliances like coffee makers. And now, they are rechargeable. The latest version just launched and has a rechargeable battery. It recharges with USB-C and is rated to last 182 button presses or about 6 months.
ECOVACS X12 OmniCyclone
ECOVACS launched their new flagship vacuum that was first announced at CES. This continues the bagless design and roller mop from the X11, but it adds new spray jets on the front to get to hard-to-clean spots with extra cleaning solution before mopping. I’ll be letting you know how well this does or does not work for me. Regardless, a great side effect of this release is right now the last-generation X11 OmniCyclone, which was already a great vacuum, is now back down to its lowest price ever of $899.
The schedule
Last week we had a fun live stream, and no videos posted. I’m working on a number of videos, but none were ready to publish this week.
I hope you have a great rest of your Sunday,
Eric
