Toys

This section is kind of cheesy, but it’s fun to have around. Plus, when I spend a lot of money on stupid things, this helps me show off!

More pictures coming soon.

My computer at work is a beast. It’s not mine, of course, but it is probably the computer I spend the vast majority of my time using, so I think it deserves a place here. At work, we frequently joke that my computer is running the entire building. I also believe it contains a microsingularity for power.

Also see the Dell product page.

optimus

This computer is actually my boss’s, but I run it at my place and administer it. It serves as a server for all of our web apps and such. Also, I like playing with FreeBSD, and it is running this very website.

ariadne

This computer is used almost exclusively for gaming. I use my laptop for pretty much everything else. Recently built, and not quite done being tuned. It’s not top of the line, but it’s about as close as I can get with only spending $300 on it (read: no Core i7).

praxis

This is my laptop, which I’ve been hoping to replace. It’s a first generation MacBook Pro, and the years have been showing. The keyboard died Christmas 08 after my girlfriend spilled beer on it. It remains otherwise functional… usually. The specs aren’t all that impressive anymore.

icarus

This is another laptop that technically belongs to the engineering company I work for. It’s a late 2009 13.3" MacBook Pro. I’d still like to replace praxis considering this isn’t technically mine, but I’m the only one that ever uses it. I don’t plan on quitting anytime soon so I suspect it’ll be outdated before I ever leave the company. I use it mostly for the wonders of developing Cocoa and Cocoa touch applications with Objective-C 2.1, Clang LLVM compiler, and libdispatch. These tools make Snow Leopard the most amazing platform I’ve ever developed for.

etc

ePhone is my iPhone 3G. It is jailbroken, and it is glorious. I also have a 500GB Time Capsule, which I use for backups and wireless routing.
