The Rise of XMPP

[ rakaur on Fri Jan 20 at 12:55 PM // category: software, technology ]

I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned XMPP (commonly known as Jabber) here before, but nows the time to do it.

XMPP is an IETF-approved standard for instant messaging and prescence.

For technical information, see the specs.

For information on my server, see Malkier XMPP.

For a comparison of XMPP and IRC, see this and this.
