Awww yeah. Got my new 200GB hard drive the other day. I got it installed and reinstalled Gentoo. Of course, installing Gentoo is a perpetual process, so, I’m still installing it.
I took out my 40GB (which just had some WinXP stuff), wiped it, and put it in cyndane as /backup. I’m going to write a ton of backup scripts so I don’t wind up losing half my shit again.
I have the 60GB… I don’t know what to do with it. I was going to slap WinXP on it, but I have no use for it really… any suggestions?
In other news… oh wait.

One Fine Day

Aww yeah, got my new hard drive. Maxtor 200GB ATA 7200RPM 8MB buffer. Heart.
But, more importantly, Kayla got my note. I’m going to be such a wreck tomorrow morning when I have to face her.
I’m optimistic though. Her sister seemed hopeful.
Some you win.

Christmas
[ rakaur on Tue Dec 07 at 07:09 PM // category: hardware, life, relationships, technology ]
I got a 200GB, 8MB buffer, Maxtor hard drive. Which is good, since my 60 has been slowly dying for a while.
I can think of someone else I’d rather have.
Sigh.

Ruby Rant
[ rakaur on Sun Dec 05 at 11:13 AM // category: life, music, programming, technology ]
I wrote a Ruby rant. It’s a good one.
Feedback plz!
By the way, the new Evanescence CD blows. I think they’re completely out of material (there were a ton of Evanescence songs released before Fallen, they just weren’t mainstream, but I like them all much better than their new shit).
And also, they blow live.

Running With Ruby
[ rakaur on Fri Dec 03 at 06:19 PM // category: life, programming, relationships, running, technology ]
My Ruby book came, finally.
I just ran three and a half miles with like two minutes of combined resting.
Pretty sure everyone in the entire school knows that I like Kayla now.
So, that should sum it up for a few days.

The Death of a Database
[ rakaur on Thu Dec 02 at 07:01 AM // category: technology, web ]
So, the database for this site was destroyed. I’ve rebuilt my backup on top of Google’s cache. All in all, the last few weeks worth of posts are gone and even more comments are gone and I have no way of recovering them.
Tough cookies, I guess.
