I Feel Like Pain

[ rakaur on Sun Feb 20 at 04:33 PM // category: kori, life, relationships, running ]

Oh boy do I feel the burn.

Friday after school we (Harrison, Tim, Dan, Adam, and me) played football at Belk Park. Harrison and Tim aren’t so much of a problem, but Dan and Adam are both twice my size. Adam sucks though, so you’ll have that. I was still okay until the next morning.

I could barely get out of bed. My everything hurts. Thighs, calves, back, arms, neck, everything. It’s just now starting to go away. Well, maybe it would have gone away.

But, I just went running with Kori. It’s hella nice out (65F), and she asked, and who can turn Kori down anyway? Had a nice jog, and my ankles hurt now. I need to talk to the long distance coach and figure out what kind of shoes I need; I think that’s my main problem at the moment.

But it was worth it to hang out with Kori. She got to see my cats and dogs and mom and even my dad showed up to drop something off.

Good day.

Mother Nature Blows

Yeah, so it’s nice and awesome outside on the two days I’m completely occupied after school. As soon as our coach wanders off for three days and we have no practice so I could actually go running after school, it turns back into shit. I hate February.

We won both matches last night, by a whole lot. I think the first match was something in the order of 230 to 90. I even contributed! Everyone about shit their pants when I rang in for a literature question. I don’t even remember the question, but it was “British Literature” and he said “Aldos Huxley” and I didn’t hear anything about getting doped up (“The Doors of Perception”) so I could only assume it was “A Brave New World.”

You know I have absolutely nothing to write about when I start talking about what literature questions I answered. I still need to write an essay for my admission to Illinois College. I don’t think it really matters, because I’m not getting in. I’m going to have to go to a stupid state school with eighty billion kids per class.

Maybe I should be doing that.

And Now for a Word From Our Sponsors

[ rakaur on Tue Feb 15 at 06:33 AM // category: life, relationships, running ]

Oh man, so happy Valentine’s Day is over and gone for another year.

Skipped practice last night and went running again. I wanted to run right after school because it was so nice out (sunshine! Even blue skies! In February!) but didn’t have anyone to go with so I just hung around practice. Right as we were starting the practice match I saw a certain someone running outside the window and promptly dropped everything I was doing, lied to our coach, and went outside and ran.

I doubled what I did Friday (which isn’t saying much, considering what I did Friday was roughly 3/4 of a mile). At one point I had been going for 1 1/4 without rest and when I ran passed the girls they all said (in unison nonetheless) “want to run with the girls?” Unfortunately, due to my heavy breathing, the blood pounding in my ears, and generally zero blood going to my brain, I was fifty meters away before I realized they had asked me to run with them. Oh man, I felt like a cock all night. I need to find some eloquent way to be like “my bad” later today when I run into them.

Alas, I cannot run tonight because I have a stupid Scholar Bowl match. A few of my friends (Kori!) are supposed to come, but I have my doubts. It’d be awesome though.

There, that’s a pretty thorough update on things no one but me cares about. Thank you, come again.

The Whistles Go Woo

[ rakaur on Sat Feb 12 at 11:46 AM // category: life, running ]

I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to write in this! Woo!

Went running yesterday for the first time in months. Oh boy did it blow. I used to be able to do three miles without resting. Yesterday I did 0.75 miles without resting. It sucked. Oh man, did it suck. My legs actually hurt too. When I was doing three every night they never hurt, but damn. If only it didn’t get so cold in the winter, I wouldn’t have had to stop. Starting again sucks.

It’s fairly “nice” out today (it’s somewhat disconcerting when I consider 45F warm), and I wish I had something to do. I might go running again, but I don’t want to bork up my ankle again. On the other hand, there might be girls there again! So I can look like a retard running and make no progress in getting a relationship! Woo!

I’d go up to Pere Marquette, but I don’t have anyone to go with. Poop.

Anyhow.
