Dead Weight

[ rakaur on Mon Nov 29 at 09:23 PM // category: life, running ]

Oh man.

Got home from school and spent like an hour weight training with a friend. He left, and I did some more on my own for about an hour. Then another friend came over and we did some more. Then we started to go running but halfway down the street concluded that 40F and raining is the suck and turned back and went and got candy instead. Then we went home and did some more weights.

I’ve been eating like constantly since I got home. I’ve had two eggrolls, some roast and potatoes, a bunch of candy, and a ton of summer saussage and cheese. It’ll me a miracle if I don’t barf all over myself in my sleep.

Who knows, maybe as a bonus I’ll even choke to death on it.

I Hate Titles

[ rakaur on Thu Nov 18 at 05:05 PM // category: life, programming, relationships, running, technology, web ]

About time for a blog update I suppose.

I did some weight training last night with a friend who actually knows what he’s doing. It sucked. I’m hurting bad today. We went running immediately after, and it seems as if I’m becomming worse rather than better.

Speaking of running, the girl I like mentioned to me that she runs. So today I asked her about running together after school (that’s like, the most outright “let’s do something together” thing I’ve done) but she runs at the YMCA whereas I just run around town. Oh well, I tried. She has a boyfriend anyway so I don’t know why I keep doing it to myself.

I’ve been working a bit on a Python Markdown. It’s insanely harsh. I don’t know Perl, so I don’t know what half of it is about. I can get maybe half of that half out of the PHP version, but I’m still in the dark over the rest. I think I can do it, bit it’s going to suck and it’s going to take a while. Should be a nice little pet project though.

As for right now: it’s raining and I’m so sore that I’m not going to bother running. I think I just need to run more often; however, I rarely have someone to run with and running alone sucks. When I run alone there’s no incentive to keep me going, so I just stop and walk a lot. That doesn’t really help so much.

Physical My Ass

[ rakaur on Tue Nov 16 at 04:41 PM // category: life, politics, running ]

That was the briefest physical ever. They didn’t even do any of the usual… things.

I have absolutely no idea why I feel the need to tell this to you people.

Oh, yeah, I wore this (I’d take a real picture but my camera is apparently no longer functional, which sucks beyond comprehension) to school today. That was interesting. No one said anything bad, but I’m guessing the Bush lovers just didn’t say anything period. The ladies seemed to like it, though! Woo!

I hate my life.

Compulsory Blog Update

[ rakaur on Fri Nov 12 at 10:11 PM // category: life, programming, relationships, running, technology, web ]

Not much happening in the land of Eric lately.

I’ve been running. It sucks. I have varying degrees of success. I tend to eat and then go running shortly after and do poorly; however, running without eating for a few hours tends to yield better stamina.

I still haven’t finished the new site. The only thing left (besides the Markdown situation) is comments. I haven’t delved into that yet because threaded comments aren’t fun to play with.

I still can’t talk to Kayla.

My legs hurt.

Blog Update 2004

[ rakaur on Sat Nov 06 at 04:11 PM // category: life, politics, relationships, running ]

Yeah so, I just bought this. I only realized afterwards that it comes off as “republicans suck, democrats rule.” I’m not a democrat. I’m not a republican either. I saw this shirt as “people who voted for Bush are complete morons” not “republicans are complete morons.” So, now that that’s cleared up.

Thursday… I think… a friend asked me to help her with a docudrama. Sure, what the hell. As it turns out, it was on the Spanish Inqusition for the European Studies class. I was Heretic #2! Anyway, it was the girl I want’s sister’s project. She was Heretic #3. So, I got to spend some time around her, which was cool.

Harrison and Tim (Tim hates me because he’s republican, Harrison hates me on principle) were gaurds. They got to hit me a lot. First to beat the confession out of me, second to flog me as was my punishment. Heretic #1 had to wear a cross or some lame crap. Heretic #3 (the girl I want) wouldn’t confess and was burned at the stake. We had marshmallows. Right before they started shooting she turns to her side and goes “so… does anyone else think this is funny?” and pointed to the giant mirror labeled “FIRE EXTINGUISHER” next to her. I started laughing so hard I had to leave so the camera wouldn’t pick it up. No one else thought it was funny.

In other news, I started running in preparation for Track. We (Harrison and I) only ran like a mile and a half, but it was pretty harsh on me as I’ve never run more than required before. It wasn’t that I got tired, it was the throbbing in my side. That went away after a while, and I had to stop less often. We ended up going up a giant hill “not a through” street, and that owned my legs. From then on, they were burning like mad (which is awesome). This morning when I got up it hurt to move (which is equally awesome). My back’s stopped hurting now, and it’s just my thighs that are sore. I haven’t seen Harrison around today so no idea if we’re running again today. We’re going hiking tomorrow though.

Fun.

Check out SorryEverybody. It’s a plea to the rest of the world on behalf of 49% of Americans who aren’t stupid.

These are also good… I’m not sure what each is so I’ll just paste:
