Maybe Relenting?

Last night was the worst. After I wrote that entry the pain just kept getting worse and worse. I tried co-codamol and it didn’t seem to help at all. All I could do was lay on the floor crying. I was so desperate that I risked taking some gabapentin that my mom had laying around. It helped amazingly. It took the pain from a 9 to about a 3 or 4. This almost confirms a herniated disc, because gabapentin works mostly on neuropathic pain.
I slept on the floor, which seems to do the trick because I woke up with a 1 on the pain scale. When I went to work it hit a 6 or 7 but I took a co-codamol so it wasn’t too awful. Since I’ve been home laying down it’s stayed around a 3 or 4 this time, thankfully. If every night was like or is going to be like last night I’m pretty sure I’d rather break a bone to distract myself.

Not too bad today. Pretty much just a dull ache around a 1 or 2. When I went to work it started getting up there, and I took a co-codamol on my break and another one when I got off. Tomorrow is my last day on the other two meds unless the clinic I’m going to at 2pm refills them.

No, Really

I woke up around 8am with a pain in the 3 or 4 range. I’ve been holding off on taking the co-codamol unless it’s above 5 or keeping me from sleeping. I can’t keep taking them like I have been. Three a day is harsh and I worry about taking them. Eventually they’re going to run out and I’ll have no relief.
I’ve been taking these meds for five days now. I’ve noticed that my pain is no longer constant, but it comes and goes all day. It gets bad when it’s getting close to time for another dose. So obviously, either the naproxen or the cyclobenzaprine is doing something to lessen the pain. How do I know which? I don’t like the cyclobenzaprine, it makes me tired and gives me really bad dry-mouth. Maybe if I get refills I’ll just try the naproxen next week and see how it goes. One of them is helping, but even so the pain is still very much there and I still have to use the co-codamol, which itself only helps partially, but it’s much better than a week ago when I had nothing to manage the pain. I’m at least no longer afraid to go to work.
Today was a pretty good day pain wise, but I pretty much laid around and did nothing all day. I went out for a few hours later that night and my back started throbbing, but I just came home and laid down.

Running Out of Titles

Day started out with pain around a 1 or 2. When I went off to work I could tell it was going to get bad, so I took a co-codamol for prevention, which worked well. When I got home it started hitting a 5 or 6, and I had numbness in my right leg and kind of a shooting pain down my left thigh. I took another co-codamol and went to bed. I’m still having trouble sleeping.
