Some You Lose

I’ll be the first to tell you I really don’t give a shit about sports, but the Illini’s loss depresses even me. And they were doing so well. They always make their three-pointers… but not last night, my friends. They only made something stupid like 25 percent of them, when their usual is like 70 percent. Bummer.
I’m afraid that knowing my generation is comprised mostly of sluts is also rather depressing. It seems as if more girls are slipping into the male ideology of sex; that is, “just do it.” Only a brief time ago were girls holding sex as something meaningful in a relationship, not something to do casually. Well, most of the self-respecting ones anyway. Anymore it would seem as if 90 percent of girls are ready to rip off their clothes anytime anyone asks. I thought maybe it was just my school that was full of shameless sluts, but I guess not. Call me a hopeless romantic, but I thought sex was supposed to be symbolic of love in a relationship. Now, in my mind, there’s a distinct difference between “having sex” and “making love.” But that’s okay right? It’s just oral sex after all. That’s not really sex.
I guess that could explain how 90/500 students in Alton that gave blood were HIV+. You guys have fun with that.
